This one-day orientation, entitled ?Chlorine
Dosing for Drinking Water Vendors of Kathmandu,? was organized on 2 December
2016 at Siddhartha Cottage, Dhobighat Lalitpur. The program was successful due
to joint coordination between the government and the related stakeholders. The
orientation had two sessions: 1) Inauguration session/meeting and 2) Training
session (Chlorine dozing and discussion). The main objective of this program
was to bring together all the water vendors of Kathmandu and train them on
chlorine dozing and purification of drinking water. It also focuses on working
jointly to identify and implement ways for effective storage and supply of pure
drinking water. Altogether, 79 water vendors participated in the orientation. The participants also performed the
chlorination and FRC demo in the session. The closing session was
followed by a certificate distribution to the participants.
