About Us


The Group for Technical Assistance (GTA) is a non-government, non-profit and non-political national organization based in Nepal. GTA was registered under the District Administration Office of Kathmandu in 1998 and has maintained its affiliation with the Social Welfare Council since then. Our core projects include education, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), gender advocacy and research, mainly surrounding public health. We adhere to community-based, bottom-up approach with a greater emphasis on uplifting the poor and marginalized groups in the country.

GTA uses a variety of approaches including participatory training for capacity building, organization of workshops and special technical assistance based on the needs of the client organizations and target groups. Technical assistance is provided through site visits, monitoring and evaluation, training and individual consultancy services, and on-site coaching. GTA adopts participatory techniques to strengthen the management capabilities of its clients leading to more sustainable outcomes.
